Better Sleep Starts at Home

Do you struggle with loud snoring, daytime fatigue, waking up feeling unrefreshed, or have you been told you stop breathing while you sleep? These may be signs of a sleep disorder, including sleep apnea.

Mason District Hospital offers convenient WatchPAT® Home Sleep Apnea Testing, allowing you to complete your sleep study from the comfort of your own home.

A referral from your healthcare provider is required. Your provider will determine if a home sleep study is appropriate based on your symptoms and health history.

No overnight hospital stay. No uncomfortable wires throughout the night. Just an easy-to-use device that allows you to sleep in your own bed while collecting the information your provider needs.

What is WatchPAT?

WatchPAT is an FDA-cleared home sleep apnea test that uses advanced technology to measure important sleep information, including:

  • Breathing patterns
  • Oxygen levels
  • Heart rate
  • Sleep stages
  • Body position
  • Snoring events

The device is worn like a wristwatch with a small finger sensor and chest sensor, making it comfortable and easy to use while you sleep.

Signs You May Need a Sleep Evaluation

Talk with your healthcare provider if you experience:

  • Loud or frequent snoring
  • Excessive daytime sleepiness
  • Morning headaches
  • Waking up gasping or choking
  • Difficulty concentrating or memory problems
  • Feeling tired even after a full night’s sleep
  • A partner noticing pauses in your breathing while you sleep

Why is Sleep Testing Important?

Sleep apnea occurs when breathing repeatedly stops and starts during sleep. These interruptions can prevent your body from getting the restorative sleep it needs and may affect your energy, concentration, and overall health.

The good news is that sleep apnea is treatable. A sleep evaluation is the first step toward finding answers and improving your sleep.

Getting started is simple:

  4. Complete your test at home
Wear the device for one night while sleeping comfortably in your own home.
  5. Return the device
