Director of Med/Surg

HOURS: Generally, Monday- Friday; must be flexible to meet needs of department

QUALIFICATIONS: The qualified candidate must a graduate from an accredited school of nursing and possess a current Illinois license. They must also have management experience, excellent leadership, verbal/written, and decision-making skills. The candidate must be able to handle stressful situations as well as staff conflicts.

RESPONSIBLITIES: The successful candidate will be directly responsible for the coordination of patient care of the Med/Surg department. The job duties include but are not limited to the hiring and development of staff, along with their performance appraisals and discipline(the candidate must have the ability to hold themselves and staff accountable), conducting the performance improvement program of the department, collaborate with the nurse educator in assessing and planning orientation and in-service needs of the personnel, submit and maintain annual budget of the department, assures Joint Commission, IDPH and other regulatory standards are met, actively participates on hospital committees (Nursing/ Pharmacy; NEC; ACO and others), identifies and addresses safety issues within the department, maintains compliance with HIPAA regulations and keeps the Mason District Hospital mission and values at the center of everything they do.


Payroll/Human Resources Clerk 

Hours: Mon-Fri  7:00 am – 3:30 pm   (Full-Time)


High school diploma

Experience in payroll processing

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Highly detail oriented with strong organizational skills

Good communication skills to help convey information clearly and answer questions effectively


Serve as the primary point of contact for all payroll-related questions and concerns

Process bi-weekly payrolls in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll tax laws and updates to ensure compliance

Reconcile payroll prior to each processing, investigating and resolving any discrepancies

Generate ad hoc reports and analysis as requested by management

Manage garnishments, levies, and child support deductions in accordance with court orders and company policy

Process new hires, terminations, and other employee changes in the payroll system

Set up direct deposit accounts for employees and process manual checks as needed

Assist HR Director with daily tasks


Business Office Clerk

Hours: Mon-Fri  8:00am – 4:30pm (Full-Time/40hrs per week)

Qualifications: The qualified candidate must have a high school diploma and good customer service skills. Must be willing to learn CPSI computer system.

Responsibilities:  Business Office Clerk is responsible for day to day revisions, payment collections/posting, statement preparation, answering phone calls, and processing all outgoing mail. They will also be the back up person to take the mail to the post office.


LPN/RN- Manito Medical Associates  

Hours:  Monday thru Friday – (Full Time)  36-40 hours per week

Qualifications:  The successful candidate must possesses medical office and computer experience. Electronic medical records experience and Vaccines for Children (VFC) program knowledge preferred.  The candidate must be a self-starter with the ability to multi-task, prioritize responsibilities, and work as part of a team.  Exceptional patient relations experience and a current LPN/RN License are required.


1 (One) Float RN/LPN/CMA – Havana Medical Associates 

Hours:  Mon. – Fri. 8:00am. – 4:30pm    (Saturdays 8am- Noon as needed)

Qualifications: Candidate must have an Illinois license or certification, and a valid CPR certification. Medical office experience is required.

Responsibilities:   Willing to meet the staffing needs in multiple clinic locations.  Highly motivated with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Willingness to work as part of a team to ensure excellent patient care.  Computer experience preferred.



Hours: 10 am-6:30pm (Full-Time)    Every other weekend

Qualifications: The applicant must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. They will need the ability to follow oral/written communications, and capability of operating a computer and cash register. A food sanitation certificate is preferred.


Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Laboratory Technician

Hours:  Varies w/weekends (Full- Time)

Qualifications: Graduate of accredited Medical Laboratory Program with ASCP certification within 6 months of hire.  Computer knowledge/skills; good decision making, good customer service, and phlebotomy skills.


Maintenance Mechanic I

Hours:  7:30am-4:00 pm (Mon-Fri)      Every third weekend

Qualifications: Applicant must be a self-starter, previous experience preferred but not required. On the job training will be provided for lesser qualified individuals.

Responsibilities: General maintenance, patching and painting, assisting experienced maintenance staff with tasks, assisting in construction projects, mowing and grounds keeping.

Applicant must be able to rotate weekends every 3rd weekend and be on-call if and when on-call work requires.

Must have valid Illinois Driver’s License, pass a post offer drug screening, and be in good physical health.

Applicant must be able to read and follow directions for all types of work.


Maintenance Mechanic II

Hours:   8:00am–4:30pm (Tues-Sat.)

Qualifications: Must be a self-starter, and possess knowledge of general maintenance, including but not limited to:

  • General preventive maintenance
  • Painting and drywall repair
  • Basic plumbing and electrical repairs
  • Mowing and grounds keeping
  • General facility modifications

Applicant must be willing to work in all hospital spaces, both interior and exterior, patient rooms, and medical clinics, using “Clean” working methods in all areas.

Applicant must be able to work weekends and on-call as required.

Must have valid Illinois Driver’s License, pass a post offer drug screening, and be in good physical health.

Applicant must be able to read and follow directions for all types of work.


Registered Nurse- Emergency Department

Hours:  6:30PM – 7:00AM     HOURS OF WORK: (Part- Time)1 Night Shift per Week

Qualifications: The candidate must have a current Illinois Registered Nursing License, current ACLS and PALS certification, current CPR certification, and graduated from an accredited Professional School of Nursing. They will also need to be willing to obtain TNS or TNCC certification within 1 year of hire.


  • Collects current symptoms, as well as a detailed patient history and then consults and coordinates with health care team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care.
  • Performs triage, while considering both physical and psychosocial elements
  • Manages basic life support needs and stabilizes patients until the attending physician is available, based upon nursing standards and protocol
  • Initiates corrective action whenever information from monitoring equipment shows adverse symptomatology.
  • Records patient’s current vital signs.
  • Works directly under physicians, assisting during exams, diagnostic testing, and treatments.
  • Prepares, administers, and records prescribed medications. Reports adverse reactions to medications or treatments in accordance with the policy regarding the administration of medication by a licensed RN.
  • Provides IV therapy
  • Provides basic, bedside care.
  • Reports any suspected abuse to the appropriate agencies.
  • Initiates patient education plan, as prescribed by the physician. Teaches patients and significant others how to manage their illness/injury, by explaining: post treatment home care needs, diet/nutrition/exercise programs, self-administration of medication and rehabilitation, as well as provides referrals to other healthcare professionals for follow-up treatment.
  • Displays professionalism while completing multiple urgent tasks in a timely manner.
  • Records all care information concisely, accurately, and completely, in a timely manner, in the patients’ medical record.


Emergency Department Assistant

Hours of Work: 6:00pm-6:00am (Full-time with weekends)

Qualifications: Must have valid Illinois EMT-B or CNA certification and valid CPR card.

Responsibilities: The candidate will be responsible for performing various patient care activities and related non-professional services. These include but are not limited to determining patient’s needs, providing direct care, monitoring vital signs and assisting with admissions, transfers and discharge of patients. Responsibilities also include registration of patients through the hospital computer system.


EMT, AEMT, or Paramedic

Hours of Work: PRN (Per Diem)

Must have valid EMT, AMET, or Illinois Paramedic license.
ACLS, PALS, and PHTLS (or ITLS) required for AEMT and Paramedic applicants.
CPR required for all applicants.

Job Duties: The successful candidate will be responsible for treating ill and injured patients of all age groups. The EMT or Paramedic will perform skilled work while operating in an approved mobile medical unit, rescuing victims and performing advanced emergency care including the administration of life sustaining treatment to patients on-site and while in route to hospital. The candidate will be an active team member in the Emergency Department and be a positive influence in the organization.


Registered Nurse- Emergency Department

Hours of Work: PRN (Per Diem)

Must have valid Illinois Registered Nurse Licensure.
ACLS and PALS required
TNCC or TNS preferred or willing to obtain
Minimum of 1 year of experience in nursing preferred
CPR Certification

Job Duties:
The ED RN ensures the delivery of and provides quality nursing care for patients of all ages presenting to the Emergency Department. The RN works collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

The RN will incorporate caring for all patients in all settings, and includes, but is not limited to, all of the following: A comprehensive nursing assessment, the development of a plan of nursing care to be integrated within the patient centered health care plan, and setting goals to meet identified health care needs, determining nursing interventions, and implementation of nursing care through the execution of nursing strategies and regimens ordered or prescribed by authorized healthcare professionals. The Registered Nurse will administer medication in a timely manner. The nurse will delegate duties to comply with the patient’s current plan of care and advocate for patients. The Registered Nurse will evaluate responses to interventions and the effectiveness of the plan of care. The nurse must communicate and collaborate with other health care professionals as needed to ensure continuity of care.
