During Your Stay

Welcome to Mason District Hospital. We understand that coming to the hospital can feel stressful, and our goal is to make your experience as comfortable and welcoming as possible. This page answers common questions you or your family may have during your stay.

If you need additional assistance, please contact our Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) Department at (309) 543-8590.

Patient Service Coordinator (Case Manager)

Our Patient Service Coordinator, also called a Case Manager, is here to support you and your loved ones during your stay. Whether you have questions, need help solving a problem, or want guidance on discharge or insurance matters, they are ready to assist.

You can reach them at (309) 543-8594.

What Should I Bring?

We recommend bringing only essential personal items, such as:

  • Glasses, dentures, or hearing aids

  • A robe and slippers

  • A clean change of clothes

  • A list of your current medications

  • Photo ID and insurance cards

For your safety, please leave valuables such as cash and jewelry at home. Each patient room is equipped with a clock, television, and phone for your convenience.

Advance Directives

An Advance Directive is a legal document that outlines your healthcare wishes in the event you are unable to communicate them yourself. It helps guide your care team and loved ones when important medical decisions need to be made.

Advance Directives are best prepared before an illness or injury occurs.

If you have questions or would like guidance, you may:

  • Call our Patient Service Coordinator at (309) 543-8594, or

  • Contact your Primary Care Provider if you are established with one of our clinics.

Note: If you are not currently admitted and meet with a case manager, a temporary space on Med/Surg may be used.
