Mason District Hospital makes every effort to ensure that your hospital experience is as comfortable and convenient as possible. The following information is designed to help answer some of the most frequently asked questions that you or your family may have during your stay. The Patient Service Coordinator provides a channel through which all inpatients, outpatients and their families can gain answers to questions, seek solutions to problems and obtain responses to concerns or unmet needs. We seek to demonstrate to all patients, their families and friends the concern and responsiveness of our staff in meeting the needs of each individual.
What should I bring with me?
It is best to only bring items that you use daily, such as glasses, dentures, hearing aids, robe and slippers. Please also bring a list of medications you take, identification, and insurance cards. Please leave valuables at home, such as money, jewelry and cell phones. Each room has a clock, TV and phone for your use.
How do I indicate my advanced directive?
An advanced directive is a document that gives your healthcare desires in advance. It is a significant statement of your intentions and should be developed only after careful consideration. This document guides your caregivers in following your wishes concerning medical treatment or non-treatment in the event you cannot make those wishes known. Mason District Hospital offers an interpreter service for patients speaking a foreign language. For assistance please talk with your nurse regarding this service.
For some people, pastoral guidance and prayer helps to enhance treatment and recovery. Mason District Hospital pastoral staff consists of clergy members of various faiths who are available to meet with patients upon request for spiritual counseling, guidance and prayer. Patients who are hospitalized are encouraged to invite their minister, priest, rabbi or other spiritual counselor to visit with them during their stay, or to request a visit from a hospital chaplain. If you wish to see a chaplain, please talk with your nurse or call (309) 543-8594 for assistance.
Mason District Hospital’s Food and Nutrition Services is dedicated to providing you with nutritious, attractive and delicious meals.
Inpatient meal times are:
- Breakfast served between 6:30 am to 6:45 am
- Lunch served between 11:30 am to 11:45 am
- Dinner served between 4:30 pm to 4:45 pm
At breakfast, you will receive a menu for the next day. Circle you preferences and send it back on your food tray. Occasionally, we may change your menu if your selections conflict with your physician's diet plan. If you have any problems with food selections, please call the cafeteria at (309) 543-8529.
