Contributing § Golden Opportunity Fund Drive
Throughout the years, support and contributions from the community have allowed Mason District Hospital to keep abreast of new technology and advances in medical care.
Golden Opportunity Fund Drive TOP
If you or a loved one has benefited from having a superior Emergency Department and hospital so close to home, you already know how vital our presence in Mason County has been. As Mason District Hospital celebrates its 50th anniversary, you have a Golden Opportunity to support your hospital during a critical time in its history.
The project to expand and modernize our hospital facility needs your financial support. Although the sale of bonds and a state grant have funded a great deal of important work, the following projects must be wholly funded by contributions from the community: § Cardiac Rehabilitation – Your support can help us expand critically needed space and purchase modern equipment to treat growing numbers of cardiac rehabilitation patients (up 25% in the past five years). § Rehabilitation Services Department – Demand for physical, occupational and speech therapy, as well as sports medicine, has grown at a rate of more than 60% since 2001. Overcrowded and under equipped, this area is in need of our support. § Emergency Department – Changes in design will allow for greater patient privacy and more efficient use of staff time in the Emergency Room. § Pharmacy Services – The growth in the use and function of our pharmacy has caused severe overcrowding. Success of The Golden Opportunity fund drive will allow us to address this concern.
Your gift to The Golden Opportunity capital campaign, in recognition of the Hospital’s vital role in our community, can work wonders. You can help us touch lives in real and lasting ways as we modernize our hospital and its services.
We invite you to contact the Campaign Office for more information. “The Golden Opportunity” Campaign 615 North Promenade Havana, IL 62644 or Telephone: (309) 543-8116
May we count on you to help us make sure that our community continues to benefit from superior healthcare close to home? Thank you!

Established in 1991 for continuing support of the hospital, the Mason District Hospital Foundation has eight board members, including seven volunteers from the community and Hospital Administrator and CEO Harry Wolin.
Contributions to the Foundation over the years have gone towards the purchase of new equipment and other enhancements for the hospital, including:
§ The purchase of an ambulance defibrillator, blood analyzer, bone density scanner and many other pieces of needed equipment § Financial assistance for recruitment of new physicians to our community § Sponsorship of employee continuing education expenses § Renovation of the Medical Clinic and patient rooms
Your gift, whether in response to the Hospital’s needs, in honor of a loved one or in memory of a loved one, can make a lasting contribution to the quality of life in our community. Current gifts, pledges of support or gifts through the estate planning process are vital to ensuring superior, hospital-based healthcare to us, our families, our friends and our community for generations to come.
